Prof. PhDr. Anna Beresova, PhD (specialization: social work) is a university lecturer in social medicine and social work at the Department of Social and Behavioural Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, PJ Safarik University in Kosice. Her research interests are into the working environment of helping professions, especially social workers and nurses as a factor contributing to mental health and the risk of burnout. In 2006 she graduated from an accredited course of the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic – “Preventing burnout”. She has been a member of the research team of projects focussing on social determinants of health, chronic illness, disability, social participation and quality of life (e.g. VEGA 1/0451/09, VEGA 1/4238/07); co-investigator of the Global Health Professions Students Survey (2005-2006, 2009-2010). Her publications include 1 monograph, more than 30 scientific papers in extenso, 2 publications in SSCI journals.
