Short bio

Zuzana Katreniakova, MD, PhD has more than 20 years of research experience in the topics of mental health, opportunities for health promotion to people in older age, and strengthening the public health system. As a member of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) Governing Board and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Slovak Public Health Association (SAVEZ), she also focuses on the transfer of research outputs to the public health policy and practice. Within the collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the SR and the WHO Europe, she has been the coordinator of the national working group for the first complex evaluation of the public health system in the SR (WHO-BCA 2012-2013). She was a member of the national expert working group within the Long-term Care Strategy project (2017-2019). Furthermore, she is a guarantor within the Platform for Prevention project aimed at proposing the specific measures, activities, and pilot projects to improve primary and secondary prevention in Slovakia by increasing the participation of the adult population in regular health checks.
