Multidisciplinary Centre for Chronic Conditions

mc3 – is an international cross-discipline research platform for scientists working in the field of chronic conditions that have formal or informal links with the Department of Social and Behavioural Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, PJ Safarik University (UPJS) in Kosice, Slovakia.

mc3 carries out research on factors that prevent the development or exacerbation of chronic diseases as well as on factors that help better manage chronic diseases and that promote health, well-being, and quality of life.

 

Main areas of interests:
biobehavioural and psychosocial innovations in chronic condition management, patient-reported outcomes (PROs), self-management support, health behaviour change, non-pharmacological interventions, adjustment to disease, adherence/compliance, mHealth/eHealth.

mc 3 utilize state-of-the-art methodology for studies on chronic diseases, including natural experiment studies, factor analysis, multilevel analysis, or structural equation modeling.

mc3 supports implementation of integrated patient-centred models of care.

mc3 also supports training and public engagement to accelerate the translation of scientific findings into public health policy and practice.
